BD Guy - Blogging Virgin

So.....where to start.

I am new to the blogosphere, so what better way to initiate myself than to jump right into the deep end.

I have worked as a BD Guy for the last 20 years, and have spent most of that time working for software start-ups. To say it has been crazy is an understatement. But in the words of the King of Gonzo Journalism...."when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro". My career has had its ups and downs, but I must admit that I love what I do for a living.

As is often the case with a BD Guy who works for start-ups - I find myself "in-transition". A year ago this was driven by my last employer being acquired by Cisco (nice exit BTW), and most recently I was impacted by our lovely economy. I am "collateral damage" of an initiative to "control burn" at my most recent employer. Nice metaphor for "we goofed and hired the OEM guy to early in the company lifecycle". Doooooh! No hard feelings, but nonetheless I'm thrust back in the job market.

So as I peruse the veritable cornucopia of job sites, a theme that keeps appearing is that I should start a blog. So I have officially done my 30 minutes of research on free blogging tools, and have settled on the path of least resistance (and cost), and am now officially the BD Guy on Blogger. In this first post, I don't have any penetrating insights to present. I just opened the editor and have let this stream of consciousness loose. I promise that I will spend more time trying to come up with topics that I'm passionate about (mostly BD-related).

So welcome to my journey, and I hope you enjoy the ride. To infinity and beyond!!
